“Quite a storyteller…incredibly captivating stories.” -Ann Delisi, WDET

Words are paramount for Rose — every verse's syllable is ripe with potential for moving the story in the perfect way, or the most perfect way possible.” -Jeff Milo, The MetroTimes

Emily Rose is a singer/songwriter, storyteller, and published poet from Detroit, Michigan. Since the genesis of her career she has toured nationally, performed the Midwest folk festival circuits, and released three full length albums, and one book. Her sensitivity to the written word and intricate guitar work have earned her recognition in her hometown, by receiving eight Detroit Music Awards.

Songs from her 2011 album ‘Porchlight Tragical’ were placed in PlayStation Four’s Detroit: Become Human as well as the feature film, Welcome to Happiness. In 2018, she released “Wake Up Brave” a collection of songs that nod to writers like John Prine and Randy Newman.

Rose’s latest releases are ‘Shoebox Island’ and ‘Alma’. She curates, hosts, and performs “Ghost Night at the Ghost Light” honoring a different departed artist each second Wednesday of the month in Hamtramck, Michigan.
